Work that has been tested in the real world.
Where it started
It started with one ₦800 bag.
- ₦800One bag, bought as an undergraduate in 2014 and sold at a healthy profit after some hard haggling
- ₦10,000Her first stock, bought at a market near campus and sold on
- ₦1mWhat the fashion business had grown to by the time she finished her final exams
Buying and selling stopped in 2015. She kept serving clients as a personal shopper and stylist until 2016, but the business she had built had fallen apart. It was her first real lesson in the difference between working hard in a business and building one that can grow.
She decided that when she started again, she would not depend on selling by hand, one customer at a time, in person. So she learned digital marketing. That skill led to Fashion Enterprise Africa, then Genevieve Magazine, then seven years at DBHQ, and the work she does today.
