The Capital Pyramid

Where are you on the pyramid?

Ebere Lisa's Capital Pyramid has four levels. Each one asks something different of you, and the letters meet you at yours. Tap a level to see what it's about.

“People are not born knowing how to play the Capital Games. They are either raised inside them, or they must retrain themselves to become successful game masters.”
Ebere Lisa, The Capital Games

The idea behind the letters

Two games are played at the same time, by very different rules.

Ebere Lisa calls them the survival games and the capital games. Many people leave survival behind in income, yet keep playing by its rules. Your income can change while your thinking stays the same. These letters close that gap, at every level.

Where these letters take you

Picture yourself a year from now.

Wherever you start, the direction is the same: more of your life running on what you own and less on what you do with your hands.

You read the game before you move

You know which industries are growing, where the money actually flows, and where you fit, before you spend a naira.

Your money stays and grows

Bigger income stops meaning bigger problems. You hold it calmly, protect it from shocks, and let it work.

Your work runs without you

You build the team and the systems, so a week away doesn't bring everything to a stop.

Your name opens doors

People know what you stand for. Opportunities, partners and clients start coming to you.

You're ready for the bigger contract

When the big opportunity comes, you already have what bigger players look for before they say yes.

You build for decades

You stop starting over every January. Each year builds on the last, and your progress keeps adding up.

I entered the market in 2014 with my first business, and I quickly saw two worlds. In one, people worked hard and stayed stuck. In the other, people moved up with what looked like ease. It took me years to learn the rules that separate them.

I learned them by doing: freelancing, one job, partnerships, startup experiments, and seven years helping businesses in eight industries grow, from real estate and finance to healthcare, energy and fashion.

Currently, I'm Managing Partner at ScaleCap. We partner with founders and investors to build the commercial and operational foundations that enable ventures to scale and deliver long-term value, and we build our own ventures too.

₦100bn+combined value of the seven companies ScaleCap has served in 2026
30,000+customers served by a financial services group we are scaling, managing ₦30bn+ in lending and investments

The Capital Games is everything I wish someone had sat me down and explained at each level. No big grammar. No empty motivation. Just the rules, in plain words, from someone building from Africa like you.

I'm rooting for you!Ebere Lisa
